Check it out while you can — the owner wants to sell the magazine — my articles in November’s edition are on Ten Count Fall and Another Found Self, bands out of Youngstown. Do check those out at Northeast Ohio’s coffeeshops, preschools, schools … though I’m betting the Rock Hall is the only place they will definitely put out the magazine this month.
I am co-writing a show in Second City Chicago’s Skybox Theatre (!) at 1616 North Wells in Chicago. The show will go up for five Fridays starting the first Friday in January and it’s written by the Second City Chicago Conservatory’s Writing Five class that I’m in. 4th Floor — look for the signs to Donny’s Skybox. I will also be doing the PR and selecting music and sound effects. Yikes! Tickets are $8 for most people and if you are a Second City student or even a student, see if you can’t get a discount. I’ll know more soon. The complete schedule will be updated here.
www.EternalVigilance.us — a movie about elections. I am in the movie as a reaction shot, listening to people speaking. The section I’m in is called “Saving Democracy.” That’s what we are attempting to do. For more info on helping get our free elections back, visit www.ohiovigilance.org. Thanks.
Check out the sketch, “Happy Hour,” on www.lastcallcleveland.com — click on YouTube to view and “Happy Hour” should pop right up. The guys in Last Call Cleveland will be performing Sunday night at the House of Blues in downtown Cleveland, so check out their live show if you haven’t seen it yet!
Come to Max McQ’s in Akron tonight for Freakomedy (that’s FREE comedy!). Starts at 9!
Look for the October issue for my article on the Comics for Kids fundraiser at Pickwick and Frolic.
I’ll be on the bill at Wilbert’s Comedy Night in downtown Cleveland this Tuesday the 10th. I’ll be getting in from Chicago so hopefully will have a little time to rehearse and bring out some good, new stuff. Wilbert’s is very near the Jake.
I will be playing with The Public Squares on Saturday, October 7th at 8 p.m. at The Hermit Club in Cleveland for the show, The Sharpest Spoons in the Drawer or We’re Like Male Nipples — Useless but Cool. Tix are $12 at the door or $10 on the Public Squares website.
